Digital radiography is a form of X-ray imaging, where digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film.
Advantages include time efficiency through bypassing chemical processing and the ability to digitally transfer and enhance images. Digital radiography is use to evaluate the thorax (chest), abdomen, spine and extremities (legs). Digital radiography is also use for advanced contrast procedures such as cystograms, gastrointestinal contrast studies and more.
*Currently, we are only able to offer radiology services to small animal patients.*
An ultrasound scan is a medical test that uses high-frequency sound waves to capture live images from the inside your pets body. An ultrasound allows your veterinarian to see problems with organs, vessels, and tissues without needing to make an incision. Because ultrasound uses no radiation, it’s the preferred method for viewing a developing fetus during pregnancy.
We use ultrasound capabilities for quick abdominal scans, guided cystocentesis, pregnancy checks, scanning of tendons in equine patients, and much more.
*For more advanced ultrasonography including cardiac echocardiograms, we have partnered with Charlotte Veterinary Surgical Services.*
They are able to come directly into our hospital to perform these procedures in-clinic.
